Beschreibung:
This rare 4/4 violin, probably made by Johann Haselwanter, Munich, with an expressively carved lion's head, is an extremely pretty antique stringed instrument.
The well-flamed, one-piece maple back and the broad top are flatly arched, giving the instrument a great, sustainable sound.
The violin was built around 1880 and is in a well-repaired and, of course, perfectly playable condition.
The ceiling crack on the left side was secured and backed in the violin workshop UEBEL- since 1725.
The Bavarian instrument got a new boxwood set-up, which is a nice contrast to the typically dark varnish.
The sound is mature, sustainable and full.
