Fine 4/4 Hopf Violin

This Hopf violin, which sounds exceptionally mature for its age, was built around 1880 in the Vogtland by one of the able master violin makers of the well-known Klingenthal family. The master violin makers of the Hopf family can be traced back to the 17th century in Klingenthal and includes about 50 masters of this dynasty who are registered in the city/church books.

This approximately 140-year-old Hopf instrument is in the best condition, it has no cracks and no repairs.
The varnish shows, rather unusual for a Hopf violin, slight antiquing in its varnish.

The tone wood for the violin was selected by its maker with great knowledge: a finely aged tone spruce was chosen for the top and closely flamed maple for the one-piece back. The scroll and sides are made from the same beautiful maple wood.
In addition to the typical, slightly angular patron, the Hopf branding on the base under the neck is a clear indication of the violin's authenticity.

The fine, antique instrument was thoroughly checked in the specialist workshop of UEBEL - since 1725 and is now offered here in the onlineshop fully furnished and ready to play.
The noble instrument is balanced over all strings with a light, open response.
Tonally, it is an instrument for players who appreciate a full, mature, powerful sound with a warm timbre that is also capable of modulation.

Test this beautiful instrument in the business premises in Celle, Lower Saxony or by arrangement in your own premises.
You will enjoy the euphonious violin.
