Since Johan Gottfried Uebel started making violins in Markneukirchen in Vogtland in 1725, our family has successfully continued this craftsmanship to this day. All instruments built in the workshop today are still made entirely by hand and some are made from 100-year-old wood.
In addition to repairs, rental and new construction, a selection of high-quality violins, violas, cellos and carefully selected violin and cello bows are offered in the Celle shop and in the online shop.
All instruments have previously been worked up professionally and with great care in the violin making workshop.

Frauke Uebel
Frauke Uebel was trained as a violin maker in her father's workshop and has been working as a violin maker since 1987. Her interest in the filigree craftsmanship of violin making was awakened in her early childhood when she visited her father's workshop and the desire to learn this craft then arose from that.
In addition to classical violin making, she was also able to acquire knowledge of baroque instrument making during her apprenticeship years.
Today she prefers to build viola d'amoren after Master Eberle and violins based on the model of the Cremonese master Guaneri del Gesu.
When building an instrument, Frauke Uebel attaches great importance to manual work, traditional knowledge and a sensitivity for the instruments. Creating a violin, cello, viola or viol etc. from a seasoned, beautifully flamed piece of wood using traditional craftsmanship is always a very personal, unique process for you.
In the end, this painstaking work is rewarded by the wonderful sounds of the newly created instrument.
Wolfgang A. Uebel
Wolfgang A. Uebel, born in Markneukirchen in 1932, learned the craft of his ancestors in the renowned workshop of Heinrich Th. Heberlein, master violin maker Paul Heberlein in Markneukirchen. In this workshop he had the opportunity, which was rare at the time, to build baroque instruments such as viola d'amoren and viola da viols.
In addition, Wolfgang A. Uebel learned how to make guitars and built various other plucked and stringed instruments, as well as a restorer of historical instruments.
Wolfgang A. Uebel opened his own workshop in Celle in 1964 and later passed his master's examination in Nuremberg.
His instruments were sold around the world as early as the 1980s, e.g. delivered to the Goethe Institute.
Dr. Sebastian Gonzalez
The family tradition is currently being continued in Cremona with Frauke Uebel's son-in-law. After successfully completing his physics studies, Dr. Sebastian Gonzalez also learned the traditional craft of violin making from Wolfgang A. Uebel and Frauke Uebel in Celle.
He is currently working at the Museo del Violino in Cremona, Italy, studying the physical vibrations of ancient Italian violins such as the on Stradivari violins.
He also dedicates himself to making violins and guitars.
